Hello fellow Tcl’ers.

I know I left tao-httpd at the conference as a work in progress. I’m pleased to tell you, there’s more progress.

I’m working on a tiny website for a travel agency that is giving me a much simpler system to implement and publish the workings on. At the same time, it looks like most of the Intranet functions that the system tao is based on are being moved to Microsoft Sharepoint. On one hand, I’m miffed. Ok, maybe not a hand. On one tip of a pinky. On the other hand, and 4 fingers of the first, because it’s no longer trying to run a production website I can do radical re-factoring without users complaining.

I’ll also be looting Sharepoint for all of it’s good points. Though I’m firmly convinced that the only “good” about it is the way it’s so thoroughly enmeshed with Microsoft Office.

Anywho, I’ll have the reference website up in a day or two. It will include a simple authentication system, a schedule of events, a mini-wiki, and a way for the owner to manage the tours. Also know as: something that’s simple to follow, and a great thing to document.

Plus I have a deadline, and deadlines have a fantastic tendency to crystalize my myriad of options into something reasonably sound.
